Colours and Passions:
A Decade of Rhythmic Invention
Label 51 ad march 2026 copy
After a decade in development, legendary drummer Prairie Prince (The Tubes, Journey, Todd Rundgren) is set to release his debut solo album, Colours and Passions, on March 20, 2026, via Label 51 Recordings. The ambitious 14-track project serves as a spiritual successor to Ken Nordine’s 1966 spoken word classic Colors, featuring an eclectic roster of 50 collaborators including Buckethead, Jello Biafra, and Todd Rundgren. Recorded at the historic Wally Heider’s Studios, the album anchors Prince’s percussive improvisations with diverse musical contributions to explore the emotional resonance of specific hues—ranging from the frantic social commentary of "Flesh Terror" to the vibrant "Orange Joy." This landmark release not only showcases Prince’s dual talents as a musician and visual artist but also highlights Label 51’s "artist-first" mission, which offers fans the unique opportunity to become equity co-owners of the label.

Press & Reviews

"I’ve learned more about music theory from Dr. Boudreaux in three issues than I did in years of piano lessons. Spinners Review isn't just a blog; it's a legit resource for anyone who wants to understand the 'why' behind the hits."
— Marcus T., Aspiring Producer
"I stopped trying to curate my own playlists and just let DJ Blunt and DJ Spice tell me what to listen to. Whether I’m at the gym or hosting a BBQ, their recommendations never miss. This is the only bookmark you need."
— Sarah L., Houston Native
"Finally, a publication that actually looks out for the little guy. The legal advice from Attorney Goldberg helped me spot a bad contract, and Alex’s spotlight gave my band our first real exposure. These guys are the real deal."
— J-Hype, Independent Artist
